Public Activation

TVNZ launched their new kids app platform HEIHEI this year. They wanted a public activation to assist with the launch promotion, for activation at shopping malls around New Zealand during the school holidays.

HEIHEI is aimed at 5-9 year olds, is free to download, has shows for viewing (mātaki), games for playing (tākaro), audio stories and music for listening (whakarongo), and competitions (whiwhinga).

Storybox created a fun school holiday activity which included a screen and bean bags for viewing shows, an audio station for listening to content via headphones, iPads for playing games, and a colouring-in table.

The HEIHEI activation spent one week at Manakau Westfield Mall in Auckland, another week at Riccarton Westfield Mall in Christchurch, and 2x weekend days at Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt. Expected numbers through the activation: 1,920. Actual number was over 4,500.
