Building on our activities in information centres for previous major roading projects, Storybox was asked to create a mobile container visitor information centre to support the delivery of information on the Transmission Gully Motorway Project to the wider community.
The resulting shipping container fit-out utilised information boards with a consistent graphic design theme across the Transmission Gully brand. The content of the information boards covered topics such as the history of the motorway route, environmental management, resilience, interchanges, and incorporated a monitor showing an animation flyover of the motorway route. The monitor system is Wi-Fi capable which enables the monitor content to be changed and controlled remotely.
Other user-centric features of the mobile visitor centre include a door counter to provide accurate numbers of people visiting the centre, a disability access ramp for easier public access and a dehumidifier to be used when the container is in storage.
