Advance Care Planning

The Kia kōrero | Let’s talk Advance Care Planning campaign encourages people to plan for their future health care, with a focus on what matters to them. It features the personal stories of six New Zealanders at different stages of life and wellness. Keri Kaa is a well-known writer, educator and advocate of te reo Māori. As her health has declined she has found returning to her birth place, Rangitukia, played an important part in her care. Storybox, in conjunction with the Health Quality and Safety Commission and Keri Kaa’s whānau, travelled to the remote east coast location of Rangitukia to speak with Keri over a number of days. Director Jess Feast and cinematographer Mike Jonathan collaborated with our clients to craft a particularly special piece that might speak to our Māori audience about the importance of making one’s wishes known toward the end of life.

It was an honour and a privilege to be involved in a campaign that is important to New Zealanders and to take a moment to share and celebrate a little piece of Keri’s incredible life.
